Hello 2011!!

What has been happening in the life of Roo?


It's my second year teaching at my school and it has been fabulous. In the love life aspect, not so much :) But I did have the opportunity to sit down and talk to my ex which helped me realize a bunch of things. This year my goal is to lose some poundage that I gained in the past three years!! Yikes!! But I can do this!!

I'm also going to try and blog things out more often because I feel that this way I can really clear my thoughts and get down to what I really want to say! Plus blogging is like a cheap way of therapy :)

So here it goes...

I'm living with my dad since my mother is living in Japan taking care of my 92 year old grandmother. It's not too bad living with my dad since he understands that I'm an adult and lets me do whatever I want. It's just sometimes I want to have my own place!! Not for the privacy but I look at my house and realize that the furniture doesn't match, the wall needs to be a different color, the placing of the TV bothers me...and I just want to create my own place!! Being in college and getting to choose how my "home" looked for 4 years, this adjustment is unfavorable... But I guess I can't really complain :) My dad does make my life a lot better!

I got to spend 2 weeks with my mom and grandma in Japan.
(since my job as a teacher gives me a 2 week break over the winter!! Be jealous!!) I had such an amazing time with them. It was a little heartbreaking to see how much my grandmother has aged. She is 92... She walks really slow and has trouble getting up. She says she doesn't want to go anywhere because she can't handle long walks, and she's too prideful to be in a wheelchair. I can't understand what it feels like to be that old but I can only imagine what it feels like to have control of you body one day, and the next not being able to even operate chopsticks to eat your food. I am very thankful and blessed that I still have my grandmother, I just wish everything was easier for her.

Well today is my day off from work since it's MLK day! I should really clean up my messy room and start off the week right! I get to see my 3 gal pals tonight for dinner and I'm SO excited!! Lalalalala
